Magic Crate Subscription Box: Not that magical!

Magic Crate Box

Subscription Boxes are a real hit these days with kids getting bored of their toys and books soon enough. My 23 mo boy too was getting bored of the toys, shape sorters, alphabets which led me to order a subscription box for him.

Cut to the chase, I am here posting my experience with the same.

Product: Magic Crate box for 2-3 yr old, April 2018, Animal Friends

Contents: It had 3 Activities and 1 book.

Experience:

Activity 1: Animal Bowling Adventure

It had cutouts of 5 animals, with placeholders to make them stand. A yellow soft plastic ball and an instruction booklet. The booklet had alternative activities listed on it too which was pretty useful. (It was common on all activity booklets). My baby was too young to slide the ball and hit the figures so he took the ball and started hitting the heads of all the animal cutouts. Scared that this will make him more aggressive I moved on to next.

Activity 2: Animal Puppets and their food

It had some makeshift hand puppets of a Cat, a Dog and a monkey. Then there were cutouts of a fish, bone and banana. My kid couldn't fit the puppets on his hand so I'm assuming it is one with parent's full involvement.

He laughed when I did it for him and identified bone, fish and banana as words through cutouts. So it was educational that way.

Activity 3: Farm Animal Puzzle

This one became my child's favourite almost instantly. The puzzle came with a farm board which could transform into a farmhouse (by pasting Velcros which were not in our board). The centre of the board has all the animal shapes and children are supposed to match the right animal to its shape and sound.

The build quality is great and it kept my baby busy for 20-25 mins each day (approx 10 days max)

Activity 4: Birdie Bubbles Snack Box

As much I loved the book, I hated that it came with all the lunch boxes flap turned on the other side. It took me sometime and once I figured the glitch, the book made much more sense. My baby loved it. He loves the 'peek-a-boo' stuff so this was very similar for him.

Verdict: 3.5/5 stars

Give it 10 days and my baby was done with it. The farm puzzle and book remains his favourite. I'm not sure if I'll extend the subscription but I'll comment on it once I am done with all 4 boxes (getting 1 complementary for late dispatch and stuff)
